Terra Nova Technologies, Inc. (TNT) secured two contracts in late 2014 and early 2015 to advance gold heap leach plans at Golden Queen’s Soledad Mountain and Nordgold’s Bouly. These are the second and third contracts awarded to TNT by gold heap leach operations in 2014-15.
For Soledad Mountain, TNT will design, supply and erect the agglomeration, overland conveying and mobile stacking equipment for a new, open pit, gold-silver heap leach operation. The new 36" overland conveyor will feed (via a new mobile tripper with 42” cross conveyor) the new mobile stacking system, which will comprise 17 new 36” mobile conveyors.
These include a series of fourteen 115’ “grasshopper” style portable conveyors, a 90’ Horizontal Feed and 140’ Horizontal Conveyor, and a 120’ Radial Stacker with 20’ telescoping stinger. Gold has been extracted for decades from Golden Queen’s Soledad Mountain site, located 50 miles southeast of Bakersfield, Calif.
For Bouly, an exploration site located near Nordgold’s Bissa mine in Burkina Faso, TNT will design and supply a similar agglomeration, overland conveying and mobile stacking system. This gold heap leach system will comprise an agglomerator, overland conveyor, mobile tripper with cross conveyor, and 23 new portable conveyors: 20 “grasshoppers,” a Horizontal Feed, Horizontal Conveyor and Radial Stacker with telescoping stinger. TNT’s project experience in the region includes supplying the world’s first commercial-scale uranium heap leach stacking system in neighboring Niger.
