The first agglomeration drum supplied by Terra Nova Technologies, Inc. (TNT) began operation Dec. 15 as part of a new stacking system at Golden Queen’s Soledad Mountain mine. For the new gold-silver heap leach operation, located southeast of Bakersfield, Calif., TNT designed, supplied and erected the agglomeration, overland conveying and 36” mobile stacking system comprising 14 “grasshoppers,” a Horizontal Feed, Horizontal Conveyor and Radial Stacker with telescoping stinger.
This is the first new mine permitted in California since the Briggs mine, constructed in 1995.
The second agglomeration drum supplied by TNT is currently being installed at Nordgold’s Bouly gold mine in Burkina Faso, where TNT is also supplying the overland conveying and mobile stacking equipment, comprising 23 new 48” mobile conveyors. This will be the second TNT-supplied heap leach stacking system operating in Africa, along with the world’s first commercial-scale uranium heap leach stacking system in Niger.
