For the construction of the Mount Milligan copper/gold mine, TNT designed and supplied the pre-crushing circuit, including a dual-cone secondary crushing station, 14x24 screening station, seven belt conveyors, a stockpile conveyor, reclaim system with vibrating feeders, dust collection, magnets and a modular MCC building.
All equipment was designed for operation at the site's minimum temperature of -38 Celsius. Engineering included all structural, mechanical, HVAC, electrical and instrumentation.
Conveyor trusses and other fabricated structures were preassembled offsite in Prince George before delivery to site. Walkways, handrails, idlers, safety switches and cable tray were installed in Prince George so that when each truss arrived at site it could be trucked directly to the final installation location. Preassembling these structures, and advancing the design work during the Early Engineering period, helped TNT achieve the fast-track project schedule mandated by the seasonal construction schedule, and helped the client to reduce the man hours required (and therefore the workers’ accommodations and related facilities to be built) at site.
